(I know, I know – “edition” is spelled wrong – just hear me out!)
Favorite statement: We’re Hungry T-shirt. ‘nuf said. ;)

Favorite tip: 10 Pictures to Take on Baby’s First Day. Beautiful snapshots of an incredibly special day. I especially love the black and white treatment – so classic!

Favorite find: Metallic Suede Booties. If these mini booties don’t make you squeal, I don’t know WHAT will!

Favorite craving: Salmon Nigiri. A big platter of these. In my face. August 1, 2013. Mark my words!

Favorite fashion: Floral Maxi Tube Dress. Usually clothes from Old Navy don’t fit me very well but I ordered this a few weeks ago and it fits perfectly! Can’t wait to live in it (and the other three colors it comes in) all summer long.

Favorite funny: Belly Laughs: The Naked Truth about Pregnancy & Childbirth. I’ve had no less than 5 women recommend this book to me. Can’t wait to crack it open and have a giggle. ;)

Favorite memory keeper. Frame out a huge white board then place baby on top and create a cute caption for when they reach big milestones. Prop against the wall for when they’re old enough to sit up!

Favorite decor: Yellow & Grey Nursery. I am in LOVE with these whimsical drapes, and soothing grey color scheme. Definitely girly, but you could find a way to make it work for a boy, too.

Favorite news: In case this week’s Friday Favorites selections haven’t given it away, I have some big news to share with you today. I’m pregnant! :D
AHHH!
Ben and I are thrilled to share the best news of our lives with you today, as we reach the halfway mark of my pregnancy – 20 weeks! I can’t believe it’s already been 4-1/2 months, but what I really can’t get over is the fact that I made it this entire time without spilling the beans (though many of you have guessed correctly over the past couple of months. I suppose the absence of yummy beer and sushi weekends probably gave it away!)
I’ve been feeling great – no morning sickness nor food aversions, or cravings really, except for warm carbs and sushi (obviously). Although Ben did have a dream the other night that he had to drive all the way to New Orleans to get me hot, powdered sugar-covered beignets from Cafe Du Monde. You know I’d do it! he exclaimed while telling me about his dream the next morning. The sweet thing is, he would, though I’m not so sure I’d be craving 2-day old stale beignets by the time he got back. ;)
At any rate, we couldn’t be more excited to become parents, and cannot wait to welcome our new addition (there it is) into the world at the end of July. At times I think, sheesh could 40 weeks go any slower?! Then other times I think, dear God is 40 weeks enough time to prepare us for the life changing event that’s about to take place?! The answer is no, and yes. We have an amazing support system of family and friends nearby, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to enter into parenthood with. Ben is as patient and steady as they come, and he will make an incredible Dad.
In even more exciting news, we are finding out the gender TODAY – SQUEE! I have been obnoxiously giddy all week waiting for this day, randomly yelling out to Ben, three more days ’til we find out!, or you’ll braid the best pigtails if we have a girl! every time I think about our appointment. (For the record I will be equally as ecstatic for a boy OR a girl, and just want a healthy babe. Ben too, although he is wearing a blue tie today for “good luck.” ;) )
Regardless of the gender, our baby will be rocking this hip-hop onesie at some point, which I got for Ben when I found out we were expecting. I highly recommend the company New Skool for the hip-hop enthusiast and their children in your life. I ordered this onesie and they ended up sending an additional one plus a couple of adorable bibs for free. Nice!

As excited as I am about having a baby, I do want to note that the tone of this blog will not change moving forward. It will still revolve 99% around family-friendly meals and recipes, as well as workout ideas. The frequency of blog posts might change in the future, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there, ok? In the meantime, I just wanted to share this piece of good news with you!
Have a GREAT weekend!

Congrats!!! Hopefully Baby cooperates and you are able to find out the gender! I am also pregnant – 17 weeks and due Aug. 19th with our 2nd child – so hopefully we’ll be finding out the gender during our ultrasound in April! Hmmmmm, maybe your baby and Will and Kate’s baby will have the same birthday? :o) Lucky you for not having any sickness or food aversions….I have not been so lucky. It takes all my power to read my favorite food blogs (yours included).
