Sorry Friday Favorites is a little late today. I woke up this morning, turned on my computer, and was met with this lovely sight:

AKA The Blue Screen of Death – BLERG!! (Mac users, I’ll save you the trouble – I know.)

Long story short, since my computer was on the way out anyways – slow hard drive, failing fan (which makes for a really hot lap, btw) – the Geek Squad is transferring the data to an external hard drive so I don’t have to pay $200-300 to get the computer fixed. Because, oh yeah, my tech support contract with them expired this summer. Joy!

The upside is, someone gets to go computer shopping this weekend! ‘Til then, I’m typing away on Ben’s computer and savoring what little control I have left over my digital life through Evernote. Seriously, bless that little application.

Anywho. Tonight I am dragging convinced Ben to go see a movie with me! Can’t decide between James Bond, Life of Pi, and Lincoln. Dying to see all three. Ben, who would see and/or do anything to make me happy, drew the line at Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2. Hmmm, I wonder why?

At any rate, back up your computer this weekend while you still can, my friend. Trust me on this one! In the meantime, please enjoy what remains of my favorite finds from around the web, that were luckily saved in Evernote before the crash, in this week’s Friday Favorites!

Favorite bite: Apple Crisp Shooters. I am all about portion controlled desserts right now, and Apple Crisp is one of my all-time favorite desserts. How adorbs would these be for Thanksgiving?

Favorite RRR. EMPTY WINE BOTTLES IN BOOTS!!!! Why have I never thought of this? My poor boots are sitting all flippy-floppy in the closet right now just begging for some support. If the weekend goes anything like today has, I’ll probably have a couple empty wine bottles to fill ’em up with by Sunday.

Favorite side: Accordion Potatoes with Rosemary and Garlic. Just gorgeous, and such a yummy flavor combination!

Favorite flick: Breaking Dawn Part 2. My brothers and Dad are heading to the Iowa game next Friday, and Ben has to work in the afternoon, so I think my Mom and I are going to sneak away and see it then. Cannot. Wait.

Favorite bite: Mini No-Yeast Cake Batter Cinnamon Rolls. Like my Mini Cinnamon Rolls – but cake batter flavored. I’ve totally been one-upped!

Favorite sip: Pomegranate-Champagne Punch. Pomegranates are back in season, and I’ve been eating them like crazy lately. This pomegranate-champagne punch sounds like it’d be a great addition to my family’s Thanksgiving morning festivities!

Favorite find: Nike Fuelband. I know several people who have the new Nike Fuelband, and they all just rave over its capability to track your movement throughout the day – whether that be running, walking, dancing, or playing basketball – then give you an instant-read on your wrist as to how close you are to reaching a daily fitness goal you preset for yourself. So motivating!

Favorite dinner: Spicy-Sweet Glazed Shrimp. I was cleaning out our freezer the other day (train wreck) when I came across a perfectly good, unopened package of frozen shrimp. Think I know exactly what I’m going to do with it!

Favorite DIY: Thanksgiving Hurricanes. What beautiful, DIY decoration for a Thanksgiving tablescape! I bet you could find all the materials at the $1 store too.

Favorite mmm: Mexican Hot Chocolate with Coconut Whipped Cream. How could you not want to dive nose-first into a big ‘ol mug of this spiced hot cocoa? (Which, btw, is vegan!)

Favorite place: Baros, Maldives. Can you say Maldives resort with optional sand bank dining?! This place is un. real.

Favorite side: Cranberry Pomegranate Sauce. Told ya’ – obsessed! ;) What a fun and yummy spin on traditional cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving.

Favorite nibble: Toffee Pumpkin Pie Bars. Put a fun spin on classic pumpkin pie by cutting them into bars and adding chewy toffee. In my experience, toffee makes everything better.

Favorite fashion: ASOS Skater Dress with Ballet Wrap. Dang, wish I could have found something like this when I was searching for a dress to wear to that wedding a few weeks ago! (Ended up rocking a skirt and blouse from Express, btw.) Flirty with the skirt, but warm with the 3/4 lenth sleeves.

Favorite indulge: Very Moist Chocolate Layer Cake. Forget what I said about portion-controlled desserts, mmkay?

    Great finds, per usual…

I’ve seen people using those pool noodles for the boot dilemma…perhaps a little more sanitary (and lighter!). However, drinking the wine seems more fun than the pool noodle. Decisions, decisions.

You can order Spanish hot chocolate from Starbucks. It’s just added with a little cinnamon and is so good! (and I don’t even like cinnamon generally) Now you’re probably on your own with the coconut whipped cream but it’s a start!

I love to freeze pomegranate gems into ice cubes and add them into a pomegranate champagne cocktail. Then, you get the chew the pom seeds when you finish the drink.

Holy fudgeballs, that Maldives pic!! No joke, I just opened up another tab to find out how to get there. Aaaand it looks like I won’t be getting there at all unless I win the lottery.
P.S. Sorry ’bout the BSoD. The worst, for real. Happy computer shopping!
