TGIF!

It’s going to be a hot and steamy weekend ’round these parts (shh, don’t tell my fellow Midwesterners, but I actually love humidity!) There’s nothing like heading out for a long run on a cloudy, humid day and working up a crazy sweat in the heat. Alas, I’ll have to stick to working up that same sweat via power walking, at least for the next few months, but the feeling is still relatively the same. :)

I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s going to be hot and humid this weekend and I’m excited. I’m seeing lots of outdoor time in my future!

What are you up to this weekend? Give me somthin’ good!

No matter where you are, and what you’re up to, I hope you have a fabulous next couple of days and in the meantime, please enjoy my favorite finds from around the web in this week’s Friday Favorites!

Favorite bite: Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. I could totally relate to Heidi’s story about making these chewy, gooey, cookies as a teenager. They were my favorite cookies to make back then too, and remain a favorite to this day!

Favorite DIY: Glow-in-the-Dark Potted Plants. Buy some glow in the dark paint and go crazy! How much fun would these be in summer’s twilight?

Favorite indulge: Angel Food French Toast. Oh. Yes. These babies are calling my NAME! There always seems to be leftover AFC laying around either at my house or my parent’s in the summer (we’re big strawberry + angel cake + whip cream fans) so I’ll definitely have to give this a whirl.

Favorite fashion. Super cute little summer outfit. Love the coral with the black chevron pattern.

Favorite snack: Healthy 5-Ingredient Granola Bars. Wish I could have enjoyed these granola bars on my trip back home earlier this week instead of munching on the sawdust-esque packaged bars I snagged from the hotel.

Favorite funny: Lip Sync-Off with John Krasinski and Jimmy Fallon. Just when I thought I couldn’t love JK ANYMORE! Wait until his last song. Just wait!!! (PS what did we think of The Office finale last night?)

Favorite mmm: Berry Medley Oatmeal Crumb Bars. I’m obsessed with all things berries right now, so these are making my mouth water especially hard.

Favorite furball. Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about! Hopefully I’ll be able to do a bit of the same this weekend.

Favorite find: Counter-Height Fire Pit. I have never seen one of these (am I crazy?!) Would love, love, love to have one for the back yard.

Favorite side: Guacamole Rice. How have I never thought of this? I love mixing my guac from Chipotle in with my rice, so this makes perfect, delicious sense.

Favorite must-have: 10 Classic Accessories Every Girl Should Own. Spot on! Class up any outfit with a few of these wardrobe staples.

Favorite idea: Savory Caprese Bread. So begins the season of all things Caprese! This is a really creative spin on the classic combo of tomato, basil and mozz.

Favorite travel: 32 States in 55 Days. This guy mounted a time-lapse camera to his rear-view mirror then drove in a huge loop across the country, taking photos all along the way. Even if you don’t look at the map of his route, you can tell what region he’s in based on the landscape. Pretty cool!

Favorite sweet: Mud Hen Bars. A cookie base topped with chocolate chips, marshmallows, and a BROWN SUGAR MERINGUE. No further explanation necessary!

And ER-MAH-GERD! John Krasinski! LOOOOVE him!

  2. lisa says:

I think the glow in the dark pots are actually lit, from what I’ve read on other sites. It would be interesting to try a smaller one with the paint, but they wouldn’t glow nearly that much with only paint on them.
I will take one fire pit table to go though!

The Lip Sync Off…OMG! That just made my day. Thank you. The office finale totally made me happy and sad. I hope they continue to play re-runs of that show forever. It was great to see Michael back, wish he was shown a little more though.

OMG! Those glow in the dark pots are awesome. My weekend plans include spicing up my new front lawn with plants/flowers. I may just have to get a few pots and try the glow in the dark thing. Super Cool!

We are driving a few hours away to visit friends, who are expecting their first child, for the weekend. They are having a Gender Reveal party for their close friends and family. We are so excited to celebrate this news with them. It should be a fun weekend of food, drinks, bowling, skeet shooting and a lot of laughter.

By the way, I LOVE your blog! Congrats on your pregnancy!
