I mustache you a question…
BaHA! I couldn’t resist. We got a load of Mustachifiers before Lincoln was born, and he’s finally big enough to use them (sniff/hooray!) They’re too cute and make me insanely happy.
At any rate, TGIF! Got any big plans this weekend? We have a bunch of family coming into town, as Lincoln will be getting baptized! Lots of festivities, food, and family to be had, eaten, and hugged. Should be great. : ) Also can everyone just join me in exclaiming how we can’t believe this is the last weekend in October? I swear it was July 4th just yesterday…
Well anyway, wherever you are, and whatever you do have a good one, and in the meantime please enjoy my favorite finds from around the web in this week’s Friday Favorites!

Favorite homemade: Homemade Chocolate Fudge Poptarts. Growing up I had a deep and true obsession with brown sugar poptarts. I’d eat the crust first, saving the gooey center for “dessert”. I LOVE the idea of making them at home!
Favorite funny: Andy and Amy’s Haunted House. You have GOT (sorry to be using so many caps!) to watch this video of an unwilling Ellen show staffer going through a haunted house. Two words: STOP IT!
Favorite fall: Roasted Harvest Veggie, Curried Avocado + Coconut Rice Bowls. Wow, this recipe title keeps getting better and better! Sounds like a wonderful, autumnal combo. Love the pops of pink pomegranate, too.
Favorite decor. I’ve never seen overlapping frames hung like this. Really interesting and unique, don’t you think? Plus let’s talk about the light – awesome!
Favorite bite: Pizza with Fig Preserves, Caramelized Onions, and Chicken Sausages. This pizza literally contains everything that is holy to me – ingredient-wise, anyway!
Favorite craft: Rosemary Wreath Place Cards. I know it’s a little early to be posting Christmas crafts, but I thought these rosemary wreaths were too cute to wait. So adorable.
Favorite mini: Mini Pumpkin Pie Slice Cookies. How precious are these cookies? Right down to the “whipped cream” dollop on top. : )
Favorite furball. Dressing your pup up like a Chia Pet for Halloween? Umm, brilliant.
Favorite ‘do. First let’s all be insanely jealous of Kali’s stunning engagement photos, and then let’s focus on her amazing haircut, mmkay? I’ve decided to chop my hair (again) and this is exactly the style I’ve been looking for!
Favorite dip: Candy Bar Caramel Apple Dip. I had a similar dip at the book shower last weekend and it was SO good. Super rich which tastes fabulous with fresh apple slices.
Favorite fashion. I’ve been loving black and tan/camel combos lately. LOFT has tons of these blouses right now, FYI!
Favorite festive: Melted Witches. How clever for Halloween. Easy, too!
Favorite cozy: Bickley + Mitchell Drawstrong Neck Warmer. This neck warmer not only looks cute, but cozy, and would look fab with the new coat I got from Banana (at 40% off!) Love the little leather patch, too.
Favorite fake-out: Chinese Orange Chicken. DROOOOOL!!!
Have a great weekend!
Those frames!! I saw that exact arrangement at Pottery Barm a few years back, bought frames and have it on my bedroom wall. My husband and I figure if our marriage survived hanging those – it’ll survive darn near anything!! The secret – longer nails for the front ones.
And Congratulations on beautiful Lincoln’s baptism!!
Oh my gosh, that is too funny!! Good tip, too!
Those melted witches are too cute! I am also really digging the overlapping frames.
I have a thousand tabs opened right now because there’s so much in this post I want to check out. Thanks for all the inspiration!! Have a great weekend. :)
I just love those overlapping frames. Love them. and those poptarts…oh my. my sweets craving seems to quadruple in cooler weather. I need those poptarts.
Confratulations to Lincoln!!
Oh goodness I need that scarf too. Great list!
I don’t think my heart has ever exploded just from looking at a cookie, but those pumpkin pie slice sugar cookies are the absolute cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
I always love your Friday favorites! Also little Lincoln is adorable. Love the mustache! Just in time for Mo-vember.
Oh my gosh my mom showed me that Ellen video last night and we were literally crying and laughing!! And those poptarts look awesome! We will definitley be trying those… my little brother LOVES poptarts. But the bowls remind me of these QUINOA BOWLS we made a few weeks ago!
That video is the funniest! My husband and I watched it about 6 times last night. I love it when grown men scream like little girls. :)
I freaking LOVE that mustache pacifier! My friend just had a baby boy and I feel like I need to go buy one for her little peanut!
The Banana Republic coat is out of stock, can you show us a picture of your purchase, thanks. Lincoln is adorable <3

Thanks for the Friday Fav’s! Love the frames & light! I saw the Rosemary wreaths used as napkin rings, which looked really neat too! Can’t wait to see your pics from Lincoln’ Baptism! Have a great weekend!
STOP IT! Thanks for sharing that Ellen clip! Heard on Big Ken and Colleen that Amy is from WDM :)
Love the mustache! Haha. He’s going to think you two are hilarious when he gets older and sees this!
Those pop tarts….drooooollliiing.
Oh man. I love a good mustachifier. We got a bunch of them at our baby shower too. I love them and can’t wait to use them. Love that drawstring scarf and the melted witches, too cute.
I’ve been living off brown sugar pop tarts for breakfast during my maternity leave!!! I know they are not healthy at all but they are so quick and easy. This morning I was thinking (again) how bad they are for me and how there must be recipes out there for homemade pop tarts. Not sure the fudge ones are that much healthier but at least they’re homemade!! Thought it was ironic when I came across your Facebook post:).
Hi! I love your Friday posts, and I went to look at what Banana Republic jacket you purchased, and it’s out-of-stock. Do you have another link to it? Thanks! Love those cute mustachifiers :)
Aw, dang, I don’t! It’s not anywhere else on the website!
THANK YOU for sharing the video clip – I laughed so hard I cried. I’m still chuckling just thinking about it..haha.
You’ll be pleased to know that Amy, the Ellen staffer, is Amy Rhodes, who grew up in West Des Moines. There’s always an Iowa connection!!!! :)
I had seen that very Orange Chicken recipe, made it last night and just finished the leftovers for lunch today. If you haven’t made it yet it is worth every bite.
Thanks for another FF!!
Love the mustache! Good luck with the baptism. Have a blessed family weekend :)
Oh my gosh, that pacifier is insanely hilarious!!!
You are so sweet to share my orange chicken – thank you! And that mustachifiers? So cute! Is it wrong that it’s totally making me want to have babies now? :)
I’m a huge fan of any homemade pop-tart, but in particular one that oozes ooey gooey chocolate. Also that caramel apple dip looks amazing. Pinning now :-)
Watched the Ellen show yesterday while in my studio and could not stop laughing over the haunted house clip. Great to watch it again! Congrats to little Lincoln!!!
Does anyone else see the random fingers coming out of the leg on the black & white outfit? Kinda creepy! :-o
Best wishes to you and your family as you celebrate this special day for Lincoln. I will be spending time this weekend checking into some of the fabulous posts you collected.
I saw that Ellen video earlier this week and it is HILARIOUS. Cried laughing!
Omg those poptarts look so good! I used to love eating the store bought ones before I realized they weren’t so healthy… haha.
That mustache paci is hilarious. I saw them at Chapters and meant to pick one up for our little guy. I think I will be ordering one in the near future.
Those photo frames! Great concept!

I love reading your blog! There is always something I want to try or save to try later on. In fact, I just sent the recipe for the roasted veggie bowl to three friends. Thanks for sharing,
Anna
That is the cutest thing I have seen. Lincoln is growing so fast. Have a wonderful weekend.
Did a double take on the frames. It took me a minute, but that is really a great set up. Love how it add dimension.
That light you like in the fav room photo is available at Ballard Design. Just an FYI.
Aw thanks for featuring me, Kristin! I wondered why I got so many new followers over the weekend, and now I know why! :)
If your hair type is anything like mine (fine, full, and slick) you spend endless amounts of time growing it out, only to then remember that it looks flat and unappealing long. This new cut looks super cute. Might be just right for where I am too….
Hi. Someone just told me about your blog and also “Cooking With Mr. C.” on Facebook.(also a blog) I just “Liked” his Facebook page and came to your site. It’s great. I’m so glad when people share their favorite blogs with each other. Denise
Love your Friday favourites. And I have been looking for what seems like forever for a good idea for something that gives the feeling of a headboard without actually being one! Love the frames and am gonna try that! Thanks.
Those pie slice cookies are too cute.
Just wanted to drop in and say thanks so much for sharing my furball Kitai and his Chia Pet costume! Hope you had a Happy Halloween!
