This might be the most surreal thing I have ever said, but today is the day our son is due!

BabyDue

It’s hard to express how I’m feeling right now – nervous, excited, scared, nervous, happy…NERVOUS. I honestly can’t believe this is really happening but, ready or not, parenthood, here we come!

For the past couple of months I’ve predicted that the little man will arrive late and, while the day is not over yet, I still feel he won’t be here for several more days. In the meantime I plan to stay busy to keep myself sane. It is the oddest feeling in the world knowing that our lives are about to change forever, just not knowing when, exactly. Like I said, it’s difficult to express how that feels.

IF anything happens this weekend (that’s a big if) I will check in next week to let you know how everything went, and introduce our son! I want to thank you all for the support you’ve shown over the past 20 weeks. Each thoughtful and encouraging comment along the way has made me even more excited to become a Mama to our sweet little boy. You guys are the best and I know you’ll be equally as supportive in the following weeks as we adjust to life with a newborn. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Talk to you soon…here we go!

Good luck this weekend and enjoy every minute. As my best friend told me when she found out I was having a boy (that was 8 years ago…), “There is nothing like a son’s love for his mother” and it’s so true.

Enjoy every snuggle, giggle, hug, and smile. You are about to start the most difficult, wonderful, rewarding journey!

I nkow exactly the feeling you’re talking about!!! I was induced at 41 weeks with my son and those days from the due date on were bizarre…waiting!! The worst was the non stop calls/texts/etc. “Baby yet?” um, no – Don’t you think you would have heard if I had the baby??? Ha!!
We went out to dinner 2 nights before I was induced and the hostess asked when I was due and I said “UH, I was due last Monday!” SUCH an exciting time for you guys though – I love your blog and recipes and especially Friday favorites. Best of luck with everything!!! Enjoy these last days, hours, whatever until your baby joins you!

Praying that all goes well with the new arrival. I’m sure your Mom is nervous too. Tell her we are praying for you all and that little man will be here safe and sound soon! Wish I knew where we could send a little gift! The baby boy things right now are so stinking cute!!

oh my gosh! Im so excited for you! I know that feeling so well…I get so impatient in the end when I don’t know exactly WHEN it will happen! Maybe this is TMI..but I ended up getting my membranes stripped to start moving things along naturally! Did it with both my boys & 12-24 hours later, voila! haha It helped my brain from going insane! Goodluck Momma! Its going to be amazing!

  9. Lindsay @ The Live-In Kitchen says:

Good luck! It can be hard to watch the due date come and go but it seems like you have a pretty good attitude about it. It’s crazy to think you could wake up tomorrow morning feeling totally normal and have a baby in your arms a few short hours later!

  10. Liz says:

Congratulations on focusing past your due date! That is so hard to do because you always hope they come by then. I actually had my first daughter on her due date so it can happen. Your life will never be the same in such a great way. I always look forward to Friday Favorites. My daughter was just telling me she’d like a shabby chic headboard and the one in this week’s post looks perfect! By the way, my birthday’s Sunday……Good Luck and Happy Pushing!

It’s my due date today too for a little boy!!! Getting up and coming into work was frustrating, but I have butterflies in my stomach that it’s going to happen soon. I’m thinking maybe this weekend sometime. THanks for the fun Friday faves and good luck with everything! I’ve been reading your blog for a couple years now :)

Just wait until he actually arrives – it will be the greatest, most indescribable feeling of joy! And p.s., from one Mom to another, make sure to take a video at some point in the hospital when you are talking to him and welcoming him to the world. I have a video like that with my daughter and I cry with joy every time I watch it! Best Wishes from Wisconsin! :D
