This might be the most surreal thing I have ever said, but today is the day our son is due!
It’s hard to express how I’m feeling right now – nervous, excited, scared, nervous, happy…NERVOUS. I honestly can’t believe this is really happening but, ready or not, parenthood, here we come!
For the past couple of months I’ve predicted that the little man will arrive late and, while the day is not over yet, I still feel he won’t be here for several more days. In the meantime I plan to stay busy to keep myself sane. It is the oddest feeling in the world knowing that our lives are about to change forever, just not knowing when, exactly. Like I said, it’s difficult to express how that feels.
IF anything happens this weekend (that’s a big if) I will check in next week to let you know how everything went, and introduce our son! I want to thank you all for the support you’ve shown over the past 20 weeks. Each thoughtful and encouraging comment along the way has made me even more excited to become a Mama to our sweet little boy. You guys are the best and I know you’ll be equally as supportive in the following weeks as we adjust to life with a newborn. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Talk to you soon…here we go!

Good luck! All my babies were a week past the “due date” so by the time the 3rd one came along, I just added 7 days to the date they gave me and was spot on!

as a fellow pregnant lady, I just burst into tears seeing your first picture. My husband and I are expecting our first child, a son, in October. Its one thing to say, “i’m having a baby”…. its another thing to say, “i’m having a son (or daughter)”. Its more tangible and rattles you at your core. So fellow mama, congrats. I’ll be thinking of you and your mama bear strength over the next few days.

Congratulations to you, Jessica! October will be here before you know it!!

Cogratulations and I hope you have a healthy delivery and baby. It is so strange waiting for it all to happen. The beginning is so tough but my little one is 10 months and you forget all about it and just enjoy every minute.

Those crocks looks just like the ones I have stored in my basement that my parents had when they were young. Everything that goes around…comes around!

My due date was the longest.day.of.my.life! Haha. So difficult to keep waiting after they’re due. Hopefully your son won’t keep you waiting for another 7 days like mine did. :) Keeping busy is wise. Good luck, and I can’t wait to “meet” baby boy!!!
Tieghan 07.26.2013
Oh my gosh, my excitement is building for you! I cannot wait to meet your little guy! I really am so excited for you both!!
Thank you so much for linking my BLT corn fritters!! So happy you like them!! Thanks again and good luck!!
Stephany 07.26.2013
Good luck this weekend and enjoy every minute. As my best friend told me when she found out I was having a boy (that was 8 years ago…), “There is nothing like a son’s love for his mother” and it’s so true.
Enjoy every snuggle, giggle, hug, and smile. You are about to start the most difficult, wonderful, rewarding journey!

I am so happy and excited for y’all! Enjoy these last few days or moments before baby!
Lauri 07.26.2013
I nkow exactly the feeling you’re talking about!!! I was induced at 41 weeks with my son and those days from the due date on were bizarre…waiting!! The worst was the non stop calls/texts/etc. “Baby yet?” um, no – Don’t you think you would have heard if I had the baby??? Ha!!
We went out to dinner 2 nights before I was induced and the hostess asked when I was due and I said “UH, I was due last Monday!” SUCH an exciting time for you guys though – I love your blog and recipes and especially Friday favorites. Best of luck with everything!!! Enjoy these last days, hours, whatever until your baby joins you!

Praying that all goes well with the new arrival. I’m sure your Mom is nervous too. Tell her we are praying for you all and that little man will be here safe and sound soon! Wish I knew where we could send a little gift! The baby boy things right now are so stinking cute!!
Melissa 07.26.2013
Ahh, that’s amazing! I’m wishing you and your family all the best today and throughout the weekend, and will be thinking of you! Once again, a job well done on this post; as I always say, the Friday Favorites post is always one I look forward to!
