Hello!
Well the Jello Shots went over well at yesterday’s party! :D
The men were the first to perfect the technique of swirling their pinkies around the outside of the shot so the Jello slid right into their mouths…
and they were also the first to begin hucking them at each other circa 10:30pm in bro ice fashion. We made our exit shortly after that. ;)
In a moment of complete and utter laziness, I decided not to set an alarm this morning and slept in ’til 10:00am (amazing!!) then Ben and I headed over to my parent’s house for my birthday lunch!
I don’t turn 28 (ahhhh) until Tuesday, but today worked for everyone to get together and celebrate.
My Mom assembled a lunch of ALL my favorite foods, including Buffalo Chicken Dip, which we nibbled on as a yummy appetizer.
Ooooomg – spicy, creamy, cheesy – awesome!! Here’s her recipe.
I Packed (with a capital P) my plate with all the other goodies she made especially for me, bless her heart.
Calories don’t count on two days before your birthday, right?! Muwahaha!
BBQ Pulled Pork,
Judy’s Baked Beans,
Potato Salad,
and fresh corn off the cob.
A barbecue FEAST!
I also devoured some fresh strawberries & blueberries.
I’ve been obsessed with this combo lately and have been eating pint after pound of yummy berries the past couple weeks. Can’t get enough!
But the BEST part of the meal was, of course, the cake!
Corner piece, please.

Well Ben and I just returned from a long walk and are debating what to do tonight. He’s hungry and I’m not. That’s about as far as we’ve gotten…

When’s your birthday? How old will you be turning this year?
I like your outfit Kristin! Happy Almost Birthday too. Mine is New Year’s Eve and I will be 32 this year. By the way I want to mention how jealous I am of all the luscious corn I always see on your blog. Midwestern corn is the best. My mom’s family is from Nebraska and I used to go out there a lot when I was younger, but I haven’t been back and had any fresh corn in at least 5 years. I miss it so!

My birthday was last month and I turned 30.
HaPpY EaRlY BiRtHdAy!!!!!!!!!!!!! i myself will turn 49 on Nov 28th. and yes…when i owned a bar…it was 20 points if you could bean someone right in the middle of the forhead w/your empty jello shot cup! ha! we did however have to ban the cardboard-ish drink coasters due to them being frisbee’d at the speed of sound across the room and the possibility of someone losing an eye!
I want cake so badly now =X Wonderful photos, can’t get over how much your husband reminds me of/looks like my fiance! Oh, and I turn 23 this December =)

Happy early birthday! I am glad you get to celebrate with your family. I turned 33 earlier this year. It is a little scary, but I feel and look pretty similar to when I was in my 20s, so I feel pretty lucky.
