Happy Friday… IT’S MOVING DAY!!!
Ahem! That is to say, we get the keys to our new house today and I could NOT be more excited! Hard to believe that just 5 months ago this wasn’t even really on our radar. I mean, we knew we’d probably be moving within the next couple of years, but just like that a decision was made and, well, here we are!
We’ll be moving a lot of little things this evening, then have a big U-haul + family and friends to help with all the big stuff Saturday…on the hottest forecasted day of the year. Eesh. I see lots of sweaty men and cold beer in our future.
Anyway, I’ll be spending the day packing up last minute stuff including a few remaining pots and pans, clothes, etc (luckily I started weeks ago so there’s not too much left!) then we will have our last sleep here before movin’ on up. WHEE. I hope to be blogging from my new kitchen on Monday but if you don’t hear from me, you’ll know why. : )
Until then, I hope you have a few wonderful plans for the weekend and in the meantime please enjoy my favorite finds from around the web in this week’s Friday Favorites!

Favorite indulge: Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Mini Cheesecakes. Have you ever seen a more perfect photo (or mini cheesecake?) YUM!
Favorite fashion: Daisy Top. Way out of my price range for a mere tank top, but so, so adorable.
Favorite sip: Strawberry Coconut Cream Soda. Looks superbly refreshing for a hot summer day.
Favorite travel: Shirakawa-Go. I follow a guy on Instagram whose been touring Japan for the past several weeks and I’ve been to many of the places he’s posted about. My heart just aches with each update, especially for the unmatched beauty of the Japanese countryside. It really is this stunning in real life!
Favorite shortcut: One Pan Pasta. Obsessed with this one-pot pasta dinner where you throw everything into a pot – including the pasta + sauce ingredients – then cook. Easy!
Favorite furball. Reader Julie B. sent me this photo of her English bulldog puppy, Lulu, who likes to travel with her head resting on the middle console and feet in the back seat. Dying!
Favorite treat: Microwave Rice Krispie Treats for One. STOP IT. Where has this recipe been all my life?
Favorite splurge. Ben and I are in the process of picking out new furniture for the new house (it’s…not going well) but I think we could both agree to splurging on a tufted leather couch like this one if we ever found one. AMAZING.
Favorite sweet: Reese’s Pieces Soft Peanut Butter Cookies. Mmmm, the texture of these cookies looks like straight up yummy, squishy dough.
Favorite footwear: Dottie Wedge Sandals. I love the mix of leather and shine, plus the mini wedge heel is just too fab.
Favorite fresh: Grilled Vegetable and Mozzarella Ensalada. Fresh, simple, summery.
Favorite tutorial: Baggy Dark Circle Rehab. As someone who has super dark under-eye circles in her genes, I found this tutorial to be very helpful. I haven’t bought the product in this post yet (waiting for my big weekend Target run!) but have tried the concealer trick which I think has definitely helped.
Favorite idea: Basil Prosciutto Salad on Watermelon Plates. A fresh and crispy salad served on a sweet and edible plate. Genius!
Favorite Find: His and Hers Desert Cups. I adore these chalk paint dipped dessert bowls, but can’t decide if they’re worth the price. Thoughts?
Favorite fun: Twinkie Layer Cake. Too. Much. Fun!!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Good luck with move! I actually made that one pan pasta last night (ripped that page out of my Martha!) It was actually really good and we did spinach instead of basil (forgot it at the store). Happy weekend!

I have to try that one-pan pasta. It looks too easy!
Good luck with the move and enjoy the breeze on this hot day. At least you aren’t moving in the middle of a blizzard!

Ohhhhhh moving! It was about this weekend in 2010 when my family helped my husband and I move. My husband just had wrist surgery and my dad went to the ER that night with a broken arm. We look back now and laugh — it was so hot and such a crazy weekend!

Good luck with moving day. How exciting! I read your blog this morning and a HomeDecoratorsCollection catalog. It has the sofa that you are looking for:(http://www.homedecorators.com/P/Gordon_Tufted_Sofa/760/). And love your fab list.

Yay for moving into your new house, so exciting! You’re seriously a busy lady!
I love so many of this weeks Favorites: the strawberry drink, that pic of Japan, and that dog/so cute! Thanks for the great links and good luck with your move! :)

To add to Sarah C’s suggestion….I think you could draw that line/heart design on with a sharpie and bake it on in the oven (google for tutorial…seen lots using Dollar Store mugs/plates). Then coat the bottom with chalkboard paint, and wa-la ~ DONE! I mean, you know, of course in your SPARE time baaahaaahaaa!

I can’t contain my excitement for the single serve rice krispies!! Oh, and the one pan pasta, totally trying that one :) Good luck moving, I’m in the same boat this week. STRESSFUL.

HAppy moving day!! How exciting!
Sarah C 06.21.2013
I bet you could DIY those bowls easily! All you’d need to do is find a cute set with a design in the middle or top rim and buy a small pint of the paint! You could probably save $30 when you’re all said and done- the premade aren’t worth it! Imagine how mad you’d be if one broke at that price!
Kayla 06.21.2013
I was thinking the exact same thing — those bowls seem like a great DIY project! I might just have to make some…
Brittany B 06.21.2013
Ok, I think I pretty much saved every link on your Friday Faves today! I always look forward to these!! Good Luck moving…bought my first home a year and a half ago and *whew* moving is NOT fun…and it was only me! So, stay safe, hydrated and patient :) (that’s what I had problems with at least!)
:D

We moved to a new house in December of last year. I was 8 months pregnant so I couldn’t do any of the heavy lifting. You picked a good time to move! :)

Microwavable Rice Krispie treats AND watermelon plates? You just made my day.
