Happy Friday… IT’S MOVING DAY!!!

Ahem! That is to say, we get the keys to our new house today and I could NOT be more excited! Hard to believe that just 5 months ago this wasn’t even really on our radar. I mean, we knew we’d probably be moving within the next couple of years, but just like that a decision was made and, well, here we are!

We’ll be moving a lot of little things this evening, then have a big U-haul + family and friends to help with all the big stuff Saturday…on the hottest forecasted day of the year. Eesh. I see lots of sweaty men and cold beer in our future.

Anyway, I’ll be spending the day packing up last minute stuff including a few remaining pots and pans, clothes, etc (luckily I started weeks ago so there’s not too much left!) then we will have our last sleep here before movin’ on up. WHEE. I hope to be blogging from my new kitchen on Monday but if you don’t hear from me, you’ll know why. : )

Until then, I hope you have a few wonderful plans for the weekend and in the meantime please enjoy my favorite finds from around the web in this week’s Friday Favorites!

Favorite travel: Shirakawa-Go. I follow a guy on Instagram whose been touring Japan for the past several weeks and I’ve been to many of the places he’s posted about. My heart just aches with each update, especially for the unmatched beauty of the Japanese countryside. It really is this stunning in real life!

Favorite splurge. Ben and I are in the process of picking out new furniture for the new house (it’s…not going well) but I think we could both agree to splurging on a tufted leather couch like this one if we ever found one. AMAZING.

Favorite tutorial: Baggy Dark Circle Rehab. As someone who has super dark under-eye circles in her genes, I found this tutorial to be very helpful. I haven’t bought the product in this post yet (waiting for my big weekend Target run!) but have tried the concealer trick which I think has definitely helped.

Yay for the new house! Is it creepy that I’m dying to see what it looks like? P.S. That grilled veggie salad looks delish I should eat that before I make a rice crispy treat for one. But who am I kidding any size batch of rice crispies that is made in my house is deemed a reasonable portion for one in my book ;)

I think those His & Hers Dessert bowls are something you could easily make at home, for possibly cheaper. :)

    Hi Kristin,
You should also look at Arhaus furniture online. They have a beautiful sofa similar to the one you posted, and MANY other great pieces. They may even have a store near you! Good luck with your move.

Good luck with move! I actually made that one pan pasta last night (ripped that page out of my Martha!) It was actually really good and we did spinach instead of basil (forgot it at the store). Happy weekend!

I have to try that one-pan pasta. It looks too easy!

Good luck with the move and enjoy the breeze on this hot day. At least you aren’t moving in the middle of a blizzard!

Ohhhhhh moving! It was about this weekend in 2010 when my family helped my husband and I move. My husband just had wrist surgery and my dad went to the ER that night with a broken arm. We look back now and laugh — it was so hot and such a crazy weekend!
