Happy Friday… IT’S MOVING DAY!!!

Ahem! That is to say, we get the keys to our new house today and I could NOT be more excited! Hard to believe that just 5 months ago this wasn’t even really on our radar. I mean, we knew we’d probably be moving within the next couple of years, but just like that a decision was made and, well, here we are!

We’ll be moving a lot of little things this evening, then have a big U-haul + family and friends to help with all the big stuff Saturday…on the hottest forecasted day of the year. Eesh. I see lots of sweaty men and cold beer in our future.

Anyway, I’ll be spending the day packing up last minute stuff including a few remaining pots and pans, clothes, etc (luckily I started weeks ago so there’s not too much left!) then we will have our last sleep here before movin’ on up. WHEE. I hope to be blogging from my new kitchen on Monday but if you don’t hear from me, you’ll know why. : )

Until then, I hope you have a few wonderful plans for the weekend and in the meantime please enjoy my favorite finds from around the web in this week’s Friday Favorites!

Favorite splurge. Ben and I are in the process of picking out new furniture for the new house (it’s…not going well) but I think we could both agree to splurging on a tufted leather couch like this one if we ever found one. AMAZING.

Favorite tutorial: Baggy Dark Circle Rehab. As someone who has super dark under-eye circles in her genes, I found this tutorial to be very helpful. I haven’t bought the product in this post yet (waiting for my big weekend Target run!) but have tried the concealer trick which I think has definitely helped.

First of all congrats on the move, hope it’s everything you are looking for in the greatest state of the US of A. :)

    Talk about TGIF, WOW!

Love, love, love the english bulldog. I have 2 frenchtons (french bulldog/boston terrier)male litter mates. Bullies are great dogs, except mine don’t drool. lol!

Must try the Reese’s Pcs. P’nut Butter cookies! Wonder how peanut butter M&M’s would work. Hmmmm! The watermelon plate is so awesome & yummy to have an edible plate, I’ll have to try that since w’melon is my all time fav summer fruit minus the seeds! YUMO!

OK, sorry but I couldn’t resist since I just got home from work at Pier 1, we have a similar loveseat/couch, overstuffed armchair & ottoman. They are part of the Chas Collection. I looked up the sku #’s if you are interested. They are my all time fav because like you I love the tufted look of leather/faux leather. Check out http://www.pier1.com. Sorry don’t mean to advertise, but thought you might be interested.

Have a great move in weekend!
    Ann :)

You could totally make those his and her desert cups at one of those pottery places that you go in and paint your own!

  3. Jamie @lifelovelemons says:

OMG i need that twinkie layer cake right this second! how cute!

  4. Wendy B says:

    Good luck with the move!

I agree, I think you could do the dishes pretty simply diy.
And the one-pan pasta and rice krispie treat for one may just save my life :) How did I ever live not knowing those things?!! Sometimes the simplest solution is the most obvious (and I will fail to see it every time!).

  5. Katie @ Blonde Ambition says:

Congrats on the move! And that One-Pan Pasta is GENIUS. I think most of the reason why I don’t often make pasta is because it’s too much work with all the pots and pans you need to use! Simple solution :)

  6. Averie @ Averie Cooks says:

Oh Kristin, good luck with your move! When I was pregnant, we moved once and so my hat is off to you and I hope it all goes smoothly and you can get settled asap! Let the nesting begin, in full swing :)

Thanks for linking to my Reese’s Peanut Butter Cookies! I’m glad they caught your eye and I wish I could bring you a whole big batch :)

  7. Emily @ Life on Food says:

Drooling over the Twinkie Cake…and the cookies…and the grilled veggies. Best of luck moving!

  8. Ashley says:

I hope moving day goes well for you.

I think you could very easily make those dessert cups yourself — Chalkboard paint is sold at most craft stores and that could be painted onto the bottom of a couple of white bowls.

  9. Jeri Wendzel says:

Make your own chalkboard ice cream bowls. I’ve seen lots of inexpensive cute bowls at World Market and just use some painting take and paint on some chalkboard paint. Ta-da! Probably less than $5.

  10. Cristina says:

I so want to try that one pot pasta. But even more than that I want to eat those mini cheesecakes. They’re adorable.

  11. Kerry says:

Good luck on the move! I see a Reese’s trend up there! LOL. The mini-cheesecakes looks amazing! I am so going to try the Basil-Prosciutto Salad on Watermelon Plates this weekend! So yummy looking!

  12. Paige says:

Good luck with your move! Can’t wait to see pics of the new outdoor kitchen!

PS – you and your SIL must be thinking the same this week. She posted a very similar one pot pasta on her Fantastic Fridays. :)

    1. Iowa Girl Eats says:

I saw that! I’ve been lusting over the skirt in her “beach outfit” for the past few weeks, too!
