This might be the most surreal thing I have ever said, but today is the day our son is due!

BabyDue

It’s hard to express how I’m feeling right now – nervous, excited, scared, nervous, happy…NERVOUS. I honestly can’t believe this is really happening but, ready or not, parenthood, here we come!

For the past couple of months I’ve predicted that the little man will arrive late and, while the day is not over yet, I still feel he won’t be here for several more days. In the meantime I plan to stay busy to keep myself sane. It is the oddest feeling in the world knowing that our lives are about to change forever, just not knowing when, exactly. Like I said, it’s difficult to express how that feels.

IF anything happens this weekend (that’s a big if) I will check in next week to let you know how everything went, and introduce our son! I want to thank you all for the support you’ve shown over the past 20 weeks. Each thoughtful and encouraging comment along the way has made me even more excited to become a Mama to our sweet little boy. You guys are the best and I know you’ll be equally as supportive in the following weeks as we adjust to life with a newborn. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Talk to you soon…here we go!

Favorite DIY: DIY Headboard. How cute! I love how the blogger switched the look up from the original version from Lowe’s to give it a shabby/chic feel.

Good luck with the babes! I know it will all go great! In the hardest moments of labor it feels like it will never end but just remember the amazing and beautiful gift that you’ll soon have. And as someone else said – enjoy it all and suck in as much one on one time as you can. Also, don’t be afraid to have the baby sleep in the nursery or let the nurses take him away when you need to nap. Getting your rest now is essential to healing!

Wishing you a speedy, healthy delivery where your water stays in tact (less painful contractions!!!) and a healthy, gorgeous baby boy!

  3. Caitlin says:

Good luck! I hope for a speedy delivery! Looking forward to “meeting” your little guy.

You will do great! They say spicy food helps to start labor if you feel like you need a little help! ;-)

My only labor advice is to speak up when you feel you need to. Just because this is your first delivery and you “don’t know what you are doing” doesn’t mean the doctors and nurses know what you need. Don’t be afraid to say: “I’m uncomfortable” or “This position isn’t working for me” or “I need…” Everything will be fine!

Eeekkk! How exciting! Hope for mama and baby to meet soon and with the littlest of pain! The cheesecake pops and the corn fritters look amazing! I need to make those crate bookshelves!

Enjoying these Friday Favorites because it may be awhile before we see another one! I have to say, and everyone hates me for this (lol), but I’ve had 3 children and have never seen a due date without a baby in my arms. I think God knows my impatience and anxiety and decided to spare me the trauma. :) Here’s hoping you aren’t waiting much longer. Cannot WAIT to hear the name you’ve picked out. I’m feeling a “traditional” name from you – we’ll seeeee!

  12. Alisha @ Gluten Free Perspective says:

Good luck!! I hope everything goes well for mom, dad, and the little guy.

Good luck! All my babies were a week past the “due date” so by the time the 3rd one came along, I just added 7 days to the date they gave me and was spot on!
