This might be the most surreal thing I have ever said, but today is the day our son is due!

BabyDue

It’s hard to express how I’m feeling right now – nervous, excited, scared, nervous, happy…NERVOUS. I honestly can’t believe this is really happening but, ready or not, parenthood, here we come!

For the past couple of months I’ve predicted that the little man will arrive late and, while the day is not over yet, I still feel he won’t be here for several more days. In the meantime I plan to stay busy to keep myself sane. It is the oddest feeling in the world knowing that our lives are about to change forever, just not knowing when, exactly. Like I said, it’s difficult to express how that feels.

IF anything happens this weekend (that’s a big if) I will check in next week to let you know how everything went, and introduce our son! I want to thank you all for the support you’ve shown over the past 20 weeks. Each thoughtful and encouraging comment along the way has made me even more excited to become a Mama to our sweet little boy. You guys are the best and I know you’ll be equally as supportive in the following weeks as we adjust to life with a newborn. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Talk to you soon…here we go!

My due date was yesterday and I’ve been thinking about you too! It’s our #2 baby boy and I have no idea when he’ll be here. Waiting is the hardest part! Good luck to you. Love your blog

I’ve been reading for awhile now and love your Friday favorites.

All the best on the birth of your boy! This time 10 years ago, I was in labor with my son. The Dr said I’d have a baby that day (28th), but the little man didn’t show up until 3am on the 29th. Hope your boy doesn’t make you wait too long! :)

I’ve been keeping up with your blog for the last few months and gotta say you’ve kept me entertained. Good work with keeping consistent entries, having different types of foods (healthy, and also some splurges which a girls gotta have once in a while), and also covering odds and ends like decor & clothes on Fridays. My kinda blog.

On a side note, I’m wondering how you found the transition from pre-prego workouts to prego work outs. I believe I saw somewhere that you are a runner, do you/did you still continuing running through your pregnancy?

I’m a mother of a 15 mnth old daughter and remember feeling anxious to get back into my pre-prego workout routine once baby was born. I thought once I have the baby I’ll be running as soon as I’m all healed up and ‘ok’ed by the Dr. Then I realized that my ‘milk’ supply was being effected by my running (which doesnt happen to everyone) and had to ease up on how hardcore I made my runs. That said, despite the fact that my workouts no longer looked the way I expected, it felt AMAZING having no more baby belly and being able to run, even if it was more of a slow jog.

Being a mother is all about compromising, learning to adjust, and doing the best with what you have. I wish you all the best for your labor, delivery, and first few weeks at home. It seems like you have good support and pray that some people near you will maybe make you some delicious dinners for those first few weeks of tiredness/soreness. You will do great!

Thank you so much for the sweet comment, Steph! I had to stop running around 25 weeks. It just felt…weird. Didn’t hurt, but didn’t feel right. I walked after that, but have to admit that for the past two months workouts have been very few and far between. As you know, energy is hard to come by at the end! That being said, YES, I am so excited to get back into the swing of things once I’m cleared!!
