I’ve got the only fruit salad recipe you’ll need all summer – Mojito Fruit Salad!
It is absolutely no secret that I am – hmmm what’s a word that’s stronger than obsessed? – infatuated with mojitos. The first time I ever drank one was during a spring break trip to Mexico a million years ago, at some all inclusive resort where the rum and mint runs free. The rest, as they say, is history.
Mojitos are great year round but the combination of mint and lime is especially refreshing in the heat and especially when it’s mixed with the ripest of summer fruit and berries, like in this salad.
Fresh chopped watermelon, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and mint are tossed with a quick and easy, lightly-sweetened lime glaze before serving. So simple. So unbelievably luscious.
I made this fruit salad on a whim for a BBQ that Ben, Lincoln and I went to over Memorial Day weekend and it was a total hit. It’s got just a little somethin’ somethin’ over other fruit salads, on account of the mint and lime of course. I even gave some to Lincoln and he inhaled it!
Now, this salad is mojito-inspired, but there’s no rum. That being said, adding a splash or two would be a fun way to jazz up the recipe for an adults-only BBQ. Ooo oo, and even though there’s no booze in the recipe, take it from me, leftovers are fabulous when added to sparkling wine. The juicy fruit and berries create this wonderful, sweet syrup and it’s just heavenly when added to a fizzy glass. I like FlipFlop Wine’s Sparking Pinot Grigio the best for both price and flavor.
Alcohol aside, get on this salad ASAP!
Like I said, this is the easiest fruit salad to make in the world. Simply add 4 cups fresh cut watermelon to a big serving bowl along with 6oz blueberries.
Next add 6oz raspberries, and 1lb chopped strawberries.
Then add the mojito-iest part of the fruit salad – fresh chopped mint! I tell you what, nothing conjures up thoughts of summer quite like the smell of fresh mint. Ahhh.
Finally mix up a fresh lime glaze including 1/4 cup fresh lime juice and 3 Tablespoons powdered sugar in a small bowl then drizzle over the fruit and berries and gently toss with a spatula to combine.
Let the fruit salad sit in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to allow the natural juices in the fruit and berries to seep out, creating a luscious sweet syrup. Ladle into bowls then serve! I

Ooo never thought of adding a syrup kinda thing to fruit salad…wouldn’t say no to a bit of rum in there too ;)
Brilliant idea! Your pics are gorgeous, as usual. Thanks for the recipe – I can’t wait to try it.
Just looking at this is cooling me off! I especially like the idea to add the leftovers to sparkling wine. Don’t mind if I do…
I’m drooling! Pinning this to make for Father’s Day weekend BBQ.
Looks so fresh and perfect for summer! Love a good mojito too :)
This includes all 4 of my favorite fruits! – AMAZING!
Is this something I can make the night before to take to work in the morning? Or should i just have all the fruit cut and glaze made and just combine at work?
I would wait until you get to work to combine, or just combine before you leave. Either or!
4th of July!!
this looks so good. but can we talk about how unfortunate it is that limes are so GD expensive right now?? because all i want are lime-flavored things, and yet paying out the nose for a tiny little citrus fruit seems so wrong!
YES. However, I bought a big bag of 8 or 9 of them at Trader Joe’s for $2.50 – I was ecstatic! Granted they’re smaller than regular limes, though not key lime size, but still. Such a steal right now!
Last night at my Giant Eagle in NE Ohio, lime’s were $99 EACH and they were the size of golf balls. I was NOT happy. I bought 2 lemons instead for $.79 each (at least they were twice the size though!) Pout.
Haha…$.99 (guess there is a big difference between $99 and $.99) Gosh, now the limes sound cheap. Baahaaa.
Your food photography is absolutely amazing. I need to take notes, and lessons.
I have used about 1/4 cup of triple sec in my fruit salad with just a bit of sugar and it’s had the same response…going to try this! FYI, the best mojito I’ve ever had was at the Chicago Speakeasy Restaurant! It was in a tall glass was delicious!
Wow, this is a total game changer!
So easy and healthy!! Love the bright colors and totally will be made a bunch this summer! :)
This looks wonderful! One of the chef’s I worked under made something similar to this but added a little black pepper and his was called “Fire and Ice”…yum.
And I love the fork in your picture!
This recipe sounds perfect for a hot summer day – I can’t wait to try it! Gorgeous photos too :)
This looks so ridiculously good. I am also a huge mojito fan!
This is exactly the kind of dish I had in mind when I added mint to my herb garden this year. Can’t wait to make this!
What a bright colored and yummy fruit salad!
OHHH this looks so refreshing! I also love mojitos so I cannot wait to dress up my next fruit salad with this recipe.
Thank you for this! I am also a huge mojito fan and love this twist on fruit salad! I can’t wait to make this dish.
