The family was hit was some sad news last week. Ben’s Grandma peacefully passed away in her home at the age of 86.
Even though I married into the family, Grandma never treated me any differently from the rest of her grandchildren.
She was incredibly sweet, clever, adventurous (she and her friends worked as “Rosie the Riveters” in Cali during WWII!) and there was no question that she adored her family more than anything else in the entire world.
Ben and I will be in her hometown of Modale, IA for the rest of the weekend celebrating her life with the rest of the family.

It looks like she left an amazing impact on her family. It’s so wonderful that you had the chance to know her and love her as well — family is such a blessing.
I am so sorry to hear this :( Grandmothers are the most wonderful thing…how lucky that she lived a long, happy life, and had you all to share it with.

I’m very sorry for your loss. She was beautiful and those pictures are great. When someone passes away peacefully it is a blessing in that your memories of them are of them in their best sense. I hope you and ben find comfort in family this weekend.
So sorry for your loss. I love the picture of her by the corn! That is beautiful. My mom just turned 90 on the 4th of this month and yes, I call her almost every, single day. She is my best friend.
