Happy holidays and (nearly) new year — I know say it every year, but I just can’t believe 2025 is right around the corner. This year FLEW!

As I do in all my annual recap posts, I thought I’d take a moment to highlight some personal and professional highlights from the year, in addition to sharing the top 10 most popular recipes on Iowa Girl Eats in 2024.

Iowa Girl Eats Highlight

Professionally, my high was launching a brand new website design and layout for IowaGirlEats.com this past fall.

This project was several years in the making and took more work then I ever thought possible, but the end result is a beautiful, user-friendly website that, hopefully, helps you find your favorite dishes quickly, plus makes it easy to discover new gluten free recipes to try.

Do you have any website feature requests that would make surfing IGE even better?

A big discussion in the food website space in particular in 2024 has been around ads. No creator likes having ads permeating their content, however they are they main way myself and others are able to keep our content free across all platforms including here on the website, as well as email and social media.

With that, I say thank you for supporting my small business so that I can keep delivering gluten free recipes from my home to yours, always free of charge.

It is my pleasure and privilege to be with you in your kitchens, cooking safe and delicious gluten free recipes for your family. I pinch myself daily and do not take my job for granted EVER!

Personal Highlight

Personally, this has been a year of great fun traveling with my family. As most parents can attest to, watching your children grow is very bittersweet.

While the baby fat has mostly faded from the cheeks of my three children, the opportunity to take on more adventures has risen, and we together we took in the sites of Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, St Louis, Vail, Denver, Stowe, Lake Michigan, and several short weekend trips in 2024.

Travel Tip

Pro tip: during your child’s 4th grade year at school, they can get themselves and everyone within their car/vehicle into US National Parks for FREE. We took advantage!

I can’t wait to see what 2025 holds for our family.

What about YOU? What was your highlight from 2024? What are you looking forward to most in 2025?

With that, I wish you a happy and healthy new year and without further ado, here are the top 10 most popular recipes here on Iowa Girl Eats in 2024 (#3 lives rent-free in my head)!
