I always wondered why anyone would visit a lake in the middle of Italy when thousands of miles of Mediterranean coastline lie just a few hours away. The more and more I see though, the more and more I’m convinced this is one lake that’s definitely worth the trip. Known for it’s multi-million dollar villas that have been around since Roman times, Lake Como is a popular hang out for the rich, famous, and hopefully, someday, me too! :)

It your step by step photo of the CA Quesadillas it looks like you grated something that you put in the dipping sauce. Was that garlic or ginger?

Ahhh Lake Como, the home of the gorgeous George Clooney. Like you I would love to go there sometime soon. I love Italy, the people are friendly and I never had a bad meal while there. Love your escape pictures, thank for doing that.

My fiance and I went there a couple of summers ago and stayed at the legendary Villa d’Este. We probably should have went out to look at some sights, but there’s something magical about that place that makes you want to laze around and relax like the rich. I think the most touristy thing we did was to go on a speedboat tour around the lake and the homes of famous people. Other than that, we dined outside in candlelight, munched on croissants in the mornings and slept by the pool. Fun!

My husband surprised me with a trip there after we got engaged in Paris. It was our “engagement-moon”. It was the most unbelievable place! I got out of the boat and had to pinch myself to believe it was real. We stayed in a cute little hotel called Hotel Belagio and we had windows that your could open with a remote from the top or bottom. The view was unbelievable! If you ever are in northern Italy this is a must see!
BTW – Love your blog! :)
