Happy Friday, everyone! :D
Is it just me, or are the weeks flying by at an alarming rate? I swear the older I get, the faster life goes. It’s scary. Stop, time! The only bright side I can see to all of this is that hopefully winter will go by in a flash and before we know it, it’ll be summer again. Yes, that’s right. I’m already looking forward to next summer. Although I started craving Christmas music this week…
Send help.
Anyways, we’ve got some weird weather on the horizon this weekend. Sunny and cold, then warm and rainy. Kind of makes it hard to make any plans. I think if we get rained out tomorrow, we’ll take my Aunt and Grandma to see the new Ben Affleck movie Argo. Looks intense, but I love movies that are based on real events, and Grandma sure does love herself a dramatic CIA thriller…
I hope you’ve got some fun stuff on the horizon too, and in the meantime, please enjoy my favorite finds from around the web, in this week’s Friday Favorites!
Favorite bite: Mini Caramel Apple Pies. I’m not a huge apple pie gal (I usually roll with apple crisp,) but add in some caramel, and make it mini? I’m all over it. :)
Favorite DIY: Halloween Burlap Runner. Spooky-chic, easy, and no-sewing required!
Favorite dinner: Honey BBQ Meatloaf. I don’t know what it is, but over the past few years I’ve become quasi obsessed with meatloaf, which is strange because I loafed loathed it growing up. I LOVE this honey-BBQ spin on this version too.
Favorite bling: Urban Glitz Diamon Stud Earrings. Love these studs!!
Favorite reuse: Colored Mason Jars. I think a row of orange mason jars with black candles and maybe a twine ribbon around the top would look awesome on a Halloween-themed mantle.
Favorite slice: Mini Pumpkin Bread with Cinnamon Streusel Topping. Mini + streusael? Stop it!
Favorite furball. I don’t know what this adorable pooch is doing, and I don’t care. Heissocute!!!
Favorite tutorial: Giant Picture Tutorial. I never knew the option of ordering this giant-sized print at Kinkos/wherever existed. So cool!
Favorite idea: Jalapeno Cornbread Poppers. This recipe is ABSOLUTELY brilliant!!
Favorite wrist flare: Nixon “The Time Teller” Watch. Ben is obsessed with Nixon watches. Think I might join him in his obsession thanks to this bad boy.
Favorite spin: Mini Vegetarian Shepard’s Pie. Great vegetarian spin, and OMG purple potatoes on top?! Gorgeous!
Favorite decor. I’ve seen orange pumpkins hallowed out for mums, etc, but never a white pumpkin filled with bright flowers. Really elegant, seasonal spin.
Favorite ‘do. SIGH. I think I’m going to cut my hair. This is what happens every time I grow it out. It gets below my shoulders then turns stringy, and I remember why I chopped it the last time. Love this swingy, cute cut!
Favorite slurp: Tomato, Basil & Cheddar Soup. Ooo I really like the fresh basil spin in this yummy tomato soup recipe. Looks perfect for fall. :)
Favorite tips: Cozy Color Schemes for Every Room. The cozy literally oozes out of these pictures. Good to have around for when we decorate our next house.
Favorite indulge: Chocolate Chip Lava Cookies. I have been craving chocolate chip cookies like a mad woman this week (made those single serve chocolate chip cookies from last week’s Friday Fave – OMG) but these cookies REALLY take it there. YES, PLEASE!
Have a faaaantastic weekend, everyone!!

Umm JALAPENO CORNBREAD POPPERS? Must. Make. Noow.
And doooo it, cut your hair. I used to be a long hair gal, but ever since I chopped it off to right below my shoulders, I’ve never gone back!

Lava chocolate chip cookies and streusel topped pumpkin bread?!?! There goes the diet.
Trisha 10.12.2012
The dog. So cute! Reminds me of my little guy. I’m calling up an old FF & making Lasagna Soup today. I’m thinking it will make a great dinner tonight & perfect leftovers tomorrow when we’re getting rained on. :(
Lisa 10.12.2012
hmmm, I’m thinking those purple potatoes just weirded me out! But the pumpkin and chocolate chip recipes looked delish :)

I love the mason jars! How pretty are those?! A fun project to do indoors now that temps are dropping! I am with you on the hair…I love that cut as well. Your Friday Favorites are definitely something I look forward to at the end of the week!

We have a 30×40 print above our bed in our bedroom :) The large pictures are great and that little dog, i could just squeeze him! I am making some of those colored Mason jars this weekend they are for a Hawkeye themed party, yellow mason jars and Iowa ribbon :)
Danielle 10.12.2012
Ditto on the thin hair issue. I have tried growing it out and don’t make it for very long because I cannot stand the stringy look! What is it about getting just past the shoulders? Mine does the same thing! Even if you can do more with longer hair, my hair is so thin it doesn’t look good up! Have a great weekend!!

Those cookies look awesome!! Stuffed jalapenos are just about one of my favorite things to make at home. Yummy!
Amy 10.12.2012
I hated meatloaf growing up too!! My Mom started calling it “Complainer’s Delight” because we would whine so much when she was making it. And now? I actually like it, as in enough that I once ordered it at a restaurant, in front of my Mom… She wasn’t happy!
Melissa 10.12.2012
I do the same thing with my hair… i’ve been repeating this pattern for like 5 years now… This time though i really am going to try to let it grow and leave it alone. We’ll see how that goes! p.s. that is the cutest dog picture I have ever seen!!!
Chelsea @ Chelsea Eats Treats 10.12.2012
Haha I made that single serving choc chip cookie from last week too!! It was so good and now I NEED to make those lava ones. Gahhh!!
Courtney 10.12.2012
That pumpkin bread– how cute!! And I want to be in that big comfy/cozy room :) That pop of red/orange is great between the chairs! Happy Friday!
Alysha @Shesontherun 10.12.2012
This post makes me want to cut my hair too!
Hannah 10.12.2012
My hair does the same thing when it gets long. It gets flat and stringy and just begs to be cut.
That soup looks delicious! Can’t go wrong with tomatoes and cheese.
STEVE PERRY 10.12.2012
KRISTIN! DO NOT cut your hair, you can do so much more with your hair longer than short, i think you will kick your self if you do, BTW that meatloaf does look gooooooood, might try that this weekend
kim@hungryhealthygirl 10.12.2012
I want to see that Argo movie too….I love Ben Affleck! Those mini apple pies are adorable and I am an apple pie person. I want to try to find the mason jars…you’re, right they would be perfect for decorating. Have a great weekend!
