Yesterday some of my best girlfriends and I got together for a good ol’ fashioned bridal shower!

Us girls have been friends since high school, and my friend Laura is getting married in May. We had to be there to celebrate and support. :)

Isn’t she gorgeous? Talk about a Barbie bride!

We took the opportunity to re-take the classic synchronized swimming picture circa Jr or Sr year of high school. My, what a difference a decade makes!

From boys and yearbooks, to husbands and babies, I’m so glad we’ve all remained so close over the years! :)

Afterwards, Ben re-proposed to me with a ring pop and we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Monterrey, for dinner.

Cheese enchilada with a side of rice (how do they get their rice so fluffy and perfect? HOW?!)

and a healthy sized mug of beer. :)

Insert March Madness and margaritas at the local watering hole, and we were ready to call it a night by 10pm. Those are my favorite kinds of nights. Get out early, have some fun, then get yo’ butt in bed at a reasonable hour. Yes?

I am from a really small town, and my parents still live there, so I still know what’s up with most of the girls in my class (generally). There were only 10 of us!! so that makes it a little easier. I really only see or talk to 3 of them on a regular basis, maybe once a year or when one has a baby or something, but it’s fun.

My besties from college, however, are all so awesome. I can pick up wherever I left off with several of them, no matter how long it’s been.

A ring pop proposal? How romantic :D.

I keep in touch with only a few friends from high school. It’s just hard because we all moved around so much. But I made a lot of close friends through church in college that I’m still very close with.

Great post. Have a great Sunday friend!

My best friend and I have been friends since 1st grade…25 years! Even though we live 500 miles apart, we still keep in touch.

Other than that, I really only have one friend from high school that I see. We get together for dinner once a month, a tradition we started a couple of years ago, and it’s great at keeping us in touch!

love your pics, what a beautiful group of girls you are!

Omg, I kid you not, I just co-hosted my best friend’s bridal shower yesterday! She’s getting married in June and I’ve known her for, gasp, 24 years! We met when I was 7!! I have 3 other besties; I’ve known 1 since middle school, and 2 since high school. It really is so wonderful to have old friends, but yes, it can be hard to keep in touch. 2 of them live by me (DC area), one in So. VA, and 1 in NYC. Obviously, the 2 by me are the easiest to keep in touch with!

You are all gorgeous, but seriously, how tall is your friend? She looks amazon!

She’s 5’11 and her fiance is 6’7! They look so great together!

I still keep in touch with my best friend… we’ve known each other since the 6th grade! And I completely agree with you – when you can pick up right where you left off, that’s a true friend :)

The group that I hung out with in high school (the group that tried really hard to not be a clique, but ultimately was) still gets together whenever I get up to Minnesota. They are the best group of people I have ever know – even despite our differences in opinions, places in life, etc. I love them.

My two closest friends are ones I met in 1st grade and the other in 2nd grade! We were all in each other’s weddings, live about 15 min. apart and all have sons now too(ages: 2, 1 year, and 10 months)! We get together when jobs/life isn’t so busy (mani/pedi days, lunches, etc.) I’m sure once summer rolls around we’ll see each other more since our husbands have become friends and play on a sand volleyball league together!

I’m still close with my best friends friend ELEMENTARY school. I know! We have been buds for ~22 years! Though we live in different states, we too can pick up where we left off and thanks to Facebook, Blackberry Messenger and good ole e-mail, we still communicate in some form almost daily.

I have high school friends who are still excited to see me at the reunions, but we don’t really do anything with each other inbetween. I have a college friend, who I met in 1979, though, who I’m still close to and still hang out with. We are fortunate enough to live in the same city for the past 18 years. When we were apart, for about 10 years following college, though, we could pick right back up, when we did see each other.

I also have a friend from elementary school, that I still see once in a while. I should make arrangements to get together with her. It’s been a while. She lives about 30 miles away, but it’s just down the freeway, so doesn’t take too long to drive to her house.

    What a fun day!
Lately with my husband’s work taking him away from home more than he gets to be home, most of my keep in touch enjoy goes towards keeping in touch with him! I keep in touch mostly with a handful of friends from high school. One lives nearby and has lately become my running buddy! I love friends where you can just pick up where you left off. It’s the best!

I’m still super close with my high school friends, even though I’m in a different state. The same goes for us: We always pick up right where we left off!
