I’ve got an outrageous, sweet and salty twist on Chex Mix that you’re going to go crazy for – Snickers Chex Mix!

Made completely in the microwave, this sweet, sticky, chewy, crunchy, chocolate, peanutty Chex Mix is Chocolate Chex drizzled with more melted chocolate and drippy caramel then sprinkled with salted peanuts and Snickers Bites.

Yes – Snickers. Bites.

Have a game plan ready for when you make this outrageous, addicting dessert – you won’t want to be alone with a whole batch!

Start by pouring 8 cups Chocolate Chex, the base of our Snickers Chex Mix, in a large, microwave-safe baking dish. I use a big casserole dish.

Next, make the homemade caramel sauce that will help the chex mix stick together in big, yummy hunks.

Add 3/4 cup brown sugar, 6 Tablespoons butter, and 3 Tablespoons light corn syrup to a microwave-safe dish then microwave for 2 minutes, stirring halfway through. Finally, stir in 1/4 teaspoon baking soda.

Drizzle the mixture over the cereal then stir to coat the best you can. It’s ok if not every single chex is covered.

Next, microwave the cereal for 3 minutes, stirring every minute, then spread out onto a wax paper-lined baking sheet to cool for 15 minutes before breaking into bite-sized pieces.

SNICKERS TOPPING TIME! Ahem.

First microwave 3/4 cup chocolate chips until smooth then drizzle over the chex with a spoon.

Next microwave 1/2 cup caramel bits with 1 Tablespoon heavy cream (or half and half) until smooth then drizzle that on top of the chocolate.

While the chocolate and caramel are still warm, sprinkle on 3/4 cup salted peanuts, then bring out the big guns – Snickers Bites!

Have you had these? They are AMAZING! Some of the “bites” I can’t really get on board with – the ratios are all off – but these babies are just right.

Sprinkle 1/2 cup Snickers Bites on top of the mixture then pop the whole pan in the refrigerator to let the caramel and chocolate set up.

Once the chex mix is completely cool, break it into big hunks then enjoy!

Like I said – highly addicting. Make for the Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day, or any day that ends in an -ay. Do you really need an excuse?! Enjoy!

why would you put this out into the internet??? now i think i have to eat a snickers…can i blame it on the baby?

  2. Lauren says:

I can’t believe you did synchronized swimming in high school! I did too and any time I tell someone that as an adult I always get a funny look. :) It was a blast though. My go-to was Snyder’s honey mustard pretzels…I remember scrounging for quarters before practice.

    This snack looks delicious!

    1. Lindsey @ The Hungry Hydrologist says:

I can’t believe it either- I also did synchro from age 7-16! I still blame it for the hard time I’ve had eating healthy as an adult- it was so easy to down 2 bagels before/during Saturday practices and eat half a pan of brownies afterwards. Oh, the good ol’ days. :)

      1. Elly says:

Me three! I’ve been reading IGE for a while now and love that we share a synchro past.

  3. Becky says:

This sounds awesome! My husband loves snickers, so we’ll have to give this a shot!

Do you get the coconut milk creamer at Hyvee? It sounds great!

  4. Colleen says:

The hubby and kids would love this! Where in the world did you find that huge bag of unwrapped fun size snickers?

  5. SMum says:

Oh, my. Don’t think I could handle having that around! Think it would cancel out if I continuously worked out while eating it?
On a side note, I just learned that making caramel sauce with brown sugar instead of white actually makes it butterscotch :)

  6. Elizabeth @ Positive Change says:

Almost all of your recipes are being used at our Super Bowl party! I think we need to add this one to the list as well!

  7. Madison says:

I made some chex mix earlier this year called “Better than sex” chex mix. Wow. Couldn’t keep my hands off it! This snickers one looks EVEN better.

  8. Nicole says:

    This looks delicious, but dangerous!!

  9. Abi@AbsofSteel says:

oh my goodness, I love this idea. If I wasn’t already planning on making fudge for the Superbowl party I’m going to I would totally make this. Seriously, I’m drooling.

  10. Taylor @ Food Faith Fitness says:

I seriously had Chex mix for dinner the other night. Probably not the best choice nutritionally, but Friday night meals don’t count.
I am dying over your Snickers version! My hubby’s favorite candy bar is Snickers and also is a Chex Mix-a-holic….so this is happening. Potentially Friday dinner round 2. Yes.

  11. Emily @ Life on Food says:

Ha! This would be my favorite version for sure. This looks amazing!

  12. Chelsea says:

wow, doesnt get much better than that…simply devine for the tastebuds yet so naughty for the waistline…love it!

  13. Kim @ Roaming Raspberry says:

I absolutely hate snickers (I know, I’m like the only person in the world), but that check mix looks awesome. I didn’t know they had bite size! That might be great to have around when I’m feelin the need for some chocolate!
