Thai Turkey Burgers with Peanut Sauce are a delicious twist on plain, dry turkey burgers. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor!

Time to get your burger fix in the form of Thai Turkey Burgers with Peanut Sauce — you will NOT miss the beef!

Made with lean ground turkey breast, tons of fresh herbs and veggies, plus a savory, mouthwatering peanut sauce, these burgers are hearty, filling and ultra-tasty. Plus they’re cooked in a skillet indoors, vs on the grill, so they can be enjoyed any time of year!

Start the Thai Turkey Burgers by making the peanut sauce which goes into the burger patties AND is slathered on top once they’re cooked.

To a food processor or blender add gluten free Tamari (or soy sauce if not gluten free), peanut butter, garlic, chili-garlic sauce, and ground ginger then blend until smooth.

Reserve part of the sauce to slather on top of the cooked burgers — the rest will add tons of flavor and moisture to the turkey burger patties.

Which is where we move to next!

To a large mixing bowl add 99% fat-free ground turkey breast plus shredded carrots and finely chopped broccoli. Since they’re finely shredded/chopped, the veggies will cook perfectly with the burgers.

Next add chopped green onion, chopped cilantro, and the remaining peanut sauce.

Lastly, add salt and red chili pepper flakes then mix everything up until just combined.

Form the mixture into 4 patties then cook for 3-4 minutes per side on a nonstick sprayed skillet over medium-high heat.

Toast up some buns then top with a cooked burger patty plus a drizzle of that luscious peanut sauce. Add crunchy lettuce leaves (I like fresh baby spinach), then dig in!

You will not believe these light, lean, and healthy burgers are turkey, and not beef. They are SO satisfying. Enjoy!

Thai Turkey Burgers with Peanut Sauce are a delicious twist on plain, dry turkey burgers. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 99% fat-free ground turkey breast
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped broccoli
  • 3 Tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or more or less
  • 4 buns
  • baby spinach leaves, for topping

For the Peanut Sauce:

  • 3 Tablespoons smooth peanut butter
  • 1 Tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon gluten free reduced-sodium Tamari, or soy sauce if not gluten free
  • 1 Tablespoon water
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Directions

For the Peanut Sauce:

  • To a food processor or blender, add peanut butter, rice vinegar, gluten free Tamari (or soy sauce), water, garlic, sesame oil, chili garlic sauce, honey, and ground ginger then blend until very smooth. Reserve 3 Tablespoons then set aside.

For the Burgers:

  • To a large bowl add the remaining peanut sauce, ground turkey, carrots, broccoli, green onions, cilantro, salt, and red pepper flakes then mix until just combined and form into 4 patties.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat then spray with nonstick spray. Add the burger patties then cook for 3-4 minutes on one side. Spray the tops with more nonstick spray then flip and cook for 3-4 more minutes on the other side or until burgers are no longer pink in the centers.
  • Place a burger patty onto each bun then top with ~2 teaspoons reserved peanut sauce, and baby spinach then serve.

Notes

  • Use your favorite gluten-free buns or wrap in lettuce leaves.

Urgh I wish we could get into eating ground Turkey but just can’t. Something about Turkey not in breast from or a turkey leg I can’t do. I feel the same way about ground chicken, weird. Glad you like the Whole Hearts, I scored a free box and wasn’t passing up the deal, even without trying it first!

    1. JennyV says:

My husband & I cannot due ground chicken, but ONLY do ground turkey or venison — never beef. Weird!

I LOVE Cap N Crunch — but never buy it. Never buy any cereal for that matter.

Worth paying more — PLASTIC WRAP!

  9. kate says:

Where all can you get this natures path vanilla sunrise? I can’t eat gluten and get tired of my chex every once in a while (although I think cinnamon chex is the best GF cereal of all the ones I’ve tried).

  10. Brittney says:

I’ve tried to like peanut sauce so many times, but I can’t get the “peanut butter goes with sweets” thing outta my palette.

My favorite cereal right now is Grape Nuts (or Hy-Vee’s Nutty Nuggets) but my favorite of all time is Reese’s Puffs.

Cable TV is worth the extra money– I’m so tired of five channels!

  11. shandy (@webgals) says:

My favorite cereal right now is Peanut Butter Cheerios (genius) and my favorite of all time is Corn Chex. Though truth be told, I only eat my cereal dry.

  12. Sarah H says:

Agreed with Austin Kara about Chex cereal- all of their flavors are delicious, ESPECIALLY Honey Nut. Seriously so delish.
Another GF cereal that I love is Nature Path’s Crunchy Vanilla Sunrise. Be careful though, it’s addicting!!

That’s the kind that I demolished a Costco sized box in less than 2 weeks – soooo good!

  13. Amy says:

“My favorite cereal right now is Fruity Pebbles, but my favorite cereal of all time is a tie between Basic 4 and Cookie Crisp.” What can I say, I like sugary cereals!! LOL!

“I think paying more for clothes is worth the extra money!” I’m a bigger girl, so I really need clothes to fit me well in order not to look sloppy or have things tug in all the wrong places.

Interesting Thai burgers. I may give those a shot!
