Thai Turkey Burgers with Peanut Sauce are a delicious twist on plain, dry turkey burgers. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor!

Time to get your burger fix in the form of Thai Turkey Burgers with Peanut Sauce — you will NOT miss the beef!

Made with lean ground turkey breast, tons of fresh herbs and veggies, plus a savory, mouthwatering peanut sauce, these burgers are hearty, filling and ultra-tasty. Plus they’re cooked in a skillet indoors, vs on the grill, so they can be enjoyed any time of year!

Start the Thai Turkey Burgers by making the peanut sauce which goes into the burger patties AND is slathered on top once they’re cooked.

To a food processor or blender add gluten free Tamari (or soy sauce if not gluten free), peanut butter, garlic, chili-garlic sauce, and ground ginger then blend until smooth.

Reserve part of the sauce to slather on top of the cooked burgers — the rest will add tons of flavor and moisture to the turkey burger patties.

Which is where we move to next!

To a large mixing bowl add 99% fat-free ground turkey breast plus shredded carrots and finely chopped broccoli. Since they’re finely shredded/chopped, the veggies will cook perfectly with the burgers.

Next add chopped green onion, chopped cilantro, and the remaining peanut sauce.

Lastly, add salt and red chili pepper flakes then mix everything up until just combined.

Form the mixture into 4 patties then cook for 3-4 minutes per side on a nonstick sprayed skillet over medium-high heat.

Toast up some buns then top with a cooked burger patty plus a drizzle of that luscious peanut sauce. Add crunchy lettuce leaves (I like fresh baby spinach), then dig in!

You will not believe these light, lean, and healthy burgers are turkey, and not beef. They are SO satisfying. Enjoy!

  • 1 lb 99% fat-free ground turkey breast
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped broccoli
  • 3 Tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or more or less
  • 4 buns
  • baby spinach leaves, for topping

For the Peanut Sauce:

  • 3 Tablespoons smooth peanut butter
  • 1 Tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon gluten free reduced-sodium Tamari, or soy sauce if not gluten free
  • 1 Tablespoon water
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Directions

For the Peanut Sauce:

  • To a food processor or blender, add peanut butter, rice vinegar, gluten free Tamari (or soy sauce), water, garlic, sesame oil, chili garlic sauce, honey, and ground ginger then blend until very smooth. Reserve 3 Tablespoons then set aside.

For the Burgers:

  • To a large bowl add the remaining peanut sauce, ground turkey, carrots, broccoli, green onions, cilantro, salt, and red pepper flakes then mix until just combined and form into 4 patties.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat then spray with nonstick spray. Add the burger patties then cook for 3-4 minutes on one side. Spray the tops with more nonstick spray then flip and cook for 3-4 more minutes on the other side or until burgers are no longer pink in the centers.
  • Place a burger patty onto each bun then top with ~2 teaspoons reserved peanut sauce, and baby spinach then serve.

Notes

  • Use your favorite gluten-free buns or wrap in lettuce leaves.

those burgers look sooooooooooooo good. i must try! i wish i could have a live-in Thai chef but these look easy enough :D

my favorite cereal (but i never buy bc it’s too expensive) is Kashi heart to heart oat and blueberry clusters. I don’t think expensive cereal is worth the extra money!

    1. Kristin from MN says:

Have you checked Walmart? Kashi cereal is waaaay cheaper at our Walmart than our grocery store.

  3. Gloria says:

Well first of all,my favorite cereal of all time is Quaker Cinnamon Oatmeal squares. I love to take it to work too for a snack.
Second of all ,I just bought some ground turkey and cilantro with no recipe in mind. Now I know what I am making for dinner tonight. I love your Thai peanut sauce. The burgers look great.

My favorite of ALL time is le lechera corn flakes, discontinued. I am gf these days though, so I can attest that honey nut chex are to die for. If you’re looking for a TREAT cereal, fruity pebbles are gf and sweet!

I love cereal! (the healthier kinds) I still love Cinnamon Toast Crunch but I never buy it because I know it will be gone fast! I have so many other favourites but cereal can get expensive so I’m making my own granola right now. I kind of want to try the Quaker Whole Hearts. I also have a few more on my to try list haha I wish there was a cereal sample truck or something! :P

  6. Reina says:

I’m totally addicted to the Special K Cinnamon Pecan. Reminds me of Cinnamon Toast Crunch but not as much sugar.

And I’m always willing to pay more for shoes and bread. Never get Sara Lee. Yuck.

  7. Food Rookie says:

My husband is with you on the Australian licorice. He just introduced me to it, and I was instantly hooked!

  8. dana @ my little celebration says:

    papapapaPEANUT SAUCE! My fave! Brilliant!

  9. Robin Flores says:

First of all, these look ridiculously amazing! Can’t wait to try them, hopefully this week!
Second of all, cereal is the perfect dessert imo and I think my current fav is Puffins (honey rice flavor) which are gluten free! They have a hint of almond flavor? or something and they are lightly sweet. Yummy dry or with coconut milk on them.
Favorite cereal of all time is chocolate cheerios

  10. Dena @ 40 Fit in the Mitt says:

I will pay more money for a really good Extra Virgin Olive Oil, there are somethings that are worth the extra money!

  11. Emily @LivingLongfellow says:

UMMM yummmmm!! You always knock out amazing meals. It is ALWAYS better to pay more money for shoes. Blisters are never worth it.

  12. Amber @ Busy, Bold, Blessed says:

This looks amazing!!! Pinned! Making it stat.

I don’t eat much cereal now a days, but I did love Apple Jacks! I hate when people buy super cheap paper towels or toilet paper!!!!

  13. Kelly says:

A great pair of black (comfortable!) pumps are worth paying a little extra for! Have to also agree with jeans though..so hard to find the right/last more than 1 year pair of jeans without paying a little more.

Favorite cereal right now is banana nut cheerios, but my favorite cereal of all time is cinnamon toast crunch. These, however, are NOT allowed in my cupbaord..they’d last maybe a day.
