This tropical-tasting smoothie combines the antioxidant power of frozen berries with a blast of vitamin C from a whole orange, a punch of potassium from a frozen banana, and staying power from protein-packed Greek yogurt.

It tastes like a vacation in a glass, and is the perfect way to wake up.

Clocking in at around 350 calories with 3 grams of fat, 11 grams of fiber, and 14 grams of protein (depending on how big your fruit it, and the yogurt brand you choose) this smoothie is as healthy as it is TOTALLY SUCK WORTHY.

Which is a good thing — when you’re talking about a smoothie anyway. ;)

This thick and frosty smoothie could not be easier to make, either. Start with a high powdered blender — I love my Blendtec.

To the blender jar add 1 cup organic frozen berries, and 1 frozen banana.

  • Tip: Always slice yours bananas before freezing — whole, frozen bananas are impossible to blend even with a high powered blender.

Next add 1 peeled orange, plus 4 – 6oz Greek yogurt.

Put the lid on top, press “smoothie”, then let the blender do the work!

30 seconds later – voila! Sunrise Smoothie.

Pour into a cup and slurp on the go, or enjoy while you’re getting ready for the day. Tropical-tasting and perfectly sweet with a perfect, smooth and creamy consistency — it’ll power you way past lunchtime!

Tried this recipe today and it tasted delish! I doubled the ingredients to make a big batch but it came out quite thick so I added some almond milk to mine to make it runnier.

This smoothie was amazing! I really enjoyed it on this hot day. I plan to make another tomorrow. I did have to add a little coconut milk to get the blender going and used Noosa honey yogurt.

  6. Kristi says:

The recipe sounds great. I just have to say that if you were making this is a Vitamix you wouldn’t need to “mush” your banana prior to freezing. I’ll try this recipe in my Vitamix with fresh fruit and ice cubes to freeze it. Thanks for sharing!

I don’t see where you mention the amount of carbs in each smoothie. I’m diabetic, and also need to watch my carbs.

The reseller is only responsible for the interconnections with his
or her customers. Linux hosting servers providing
high security services compare to all other platforms. By by using a Plesk hosting
control panel a user is always protected from various problems and
vulnerabilities. Usually, the occupy rate iis pretty high because clients actually find it easier to permit the same
service provider take care of everything. There are a few reseller internet
hosting firms that gives some space so that you just get the chance of hosting different websites yourself.
Actually, many deceitful individuals take the content
of others, repackage it, and then sell it as their own.
Your customers will need to possess access for your products and services, and a great company name can help them remember where to discover you around the Internet.
This means every client can install any of the applications, software
and operating platforms which can be legal and together with proper
license. This package is then broken uup into ten accounts, each with 100MB disk space and bandwidth.
Competitive Edge: The reseller has the possiblity to offer other services which might be used in conjunction with web hosting accounts.

Could you post the nutritional value counts for this smoothie…calories, fat, protein%, etc? Thanks, I had this smoothie this morning and it was amazing :)

    1. Kristin says:

Hi Randi – so glad you enjoyed the smoothie! I don’t calculate nutritional information for my recipes but recommend Livestrong’s Recipe Calculator Tool if you want that info. It’s great and really easy to use:

  10. Mary says:

I tried the smoothie. I used plain yoghurt, vanilla extract and strawberries/blueberries and it was absolutely delicious!

  11. Stephanie says:

I just made this tonight so I can have it tomorrow morning, and my sample of it was really good! Mine turned out more pink/red because my mixed berries had more strawberries and such in it. I also used two little clementines that I had on hand instead of an orange. It takes a while to blend (maybe because my blender is older), but it turns out nice, thick, and tasty!

  12. Jodi N says:

I would love to give this to my husband!

  13. Peter says:

That might just be the most gorgeous looking smoothie I have ever seen. Immense, definitely making this tomorrow.
